CBC News Report: Avoid scams from websites selling info on government grants

On June 8, 2010, Kathy Tomlinson, from CBC News, reported on websites that sell incorrect information on government grants, and on government agencies warning businesses not to get taken in.

We were delighted with the coverage and the conversations that this new story generated because the problems with the industry can finally be addressed.

We are also pleased that the story noted many of the reasons SAFEC was created. For years we have tried to differentiate ourselves from the other services (particularly, the directories) in our industry.

We encourage you to review the news story (here on our website or on the CBC News website). Below are the links to access the news story - CBC News report. Click the following links to read the report:

Like CBC News, SAFEC advises prospective customers to be prudent. Be sure to investigate their offerings before making the call. A quick review of many of these websites online in Canada found that each company or brand is actually white-labeled versions of the same content (or site) present differently.
