PROGRAMS
Subsidies and Grants
Subsidies are non-refundable funds that can be payable to your business and that generally offer the following characteristics:
- Focus on achieving very specific short- and medium-term objectives;
- The subsidy amount could represent sums that vary between hundreds and thousands of dollars. Note that the sum will rarely exceed $100,000 for each request;
- Some programs can be solicited several times by the same business, and many of these requests may be accepted;
- Specific businesses benefit from annual programs, by submitting an application every year;
- Once a business receives funding, it automatically has an upper hand on other businesses making it easier to receive financial assistance for a second time from the same organization or even a new one;
Programs that grant subsidies often aim for objectives related to:
- Business start-up and expansion;
- Job creation and on-the-job training;
- Establishment of better business practices;
- Development of collaborations and partnerships;
- Innovation in all its forms.
