2004 – Beginning of SAFEC’s website and tools development

2005 – On November 29, 2005, official launch and deployment of the site

  • After over 18 months of development, presentation of SAFEC to the press;
  • At launch, the database is the most up-to-date in the industry with over 500 assistance programs available to businesses;
  • Media was very enthusiastic with our search tool that specializes in targeting information corresponding to a specific project.

2006 – The database reaches 650+ programs

  • Partnerships and development initiatives with organizations such as the National Bank of Canada and the Development Bank of Canada (BDC);
  • Important point: it is estimated that at least 10,000 assistance programs are available to Canadian enterprises provided by governments and private organizations;
  • It became evident that a serious technological developmental program needed to be initiated in order to manage this mass information

2007 – The database reaches 750+ programs

  • Beginning of the development of new processes for the management and the update of information;
  • Implementation of the Support Service and Pre-qualification tools launched.

2008 – The database reaches 850+ programs

  • Recipient of the Alpha Award awarded by the Chamber of Commerce of St-Laurent;
  • One of the 10 Canadian finalists for the 4th Dell Small Business Excellence Award;
  • Beginning of SAFEC.ca's development Phase 2.

2009 – The database reaches 950+ programs

  • A year dedicated to the development of the new website and specialized technology in information and knowledge management;
  • For the 2nd consecutive year, one of the finalists for the Alpha Award, awarded by the Chamber of Commerce of St-Laurent;
  • For the 2nd consecutive year, one of the 10 Canadian finalists for the 4th Dell Small Business Excellence Award.

2010 – The database reaches 1,100+ programs at the end of the year

  • Launch of SAFEC 2.0, a completely renewed version of the website;
  • Users have new tools for the intelligent management of program information;
  • For the 3rd consecutive year, one of the finalists for the Alpha Award, awarded by the Chamber of Commerce of St-Laurent.

2011 – The contents of the database increase from 1,100 to 2,200+ programs in 12 months

  • Deployment of a technological tool that allows the automation of numerous tasks related to the management and growth of the database;
  • Our new technological tools provide near real-time updates of the database content;
  • New functions to facilitate the delivery of Support Service;
  • Launch of the Flexi-Guarantee and of a new tool to better support our members and subscribers: training sessions;
  • For the 4th consecutive year, one of the finalists for the Alpha Award, awarded by the Chamber of Commerce of St-Laurent.

2012 – The contents of the database increase from 2,200 to 2,450 programs available Quebec businesses

  • Development of our technological tool that allows for the automation of some tasks related to the maintainability of the database;
  • Development of a "web crawler" to search for new programs available on the Internet;
  • Improved accuracy of information targeting in correspondence with descriptive search criteria;
  • Launch of 3 new courses to help clients maximize the tangible results ($$$) using information obtained from assistance programs;
  • Development of version 3.0 of the SAFEC website;
  • Relocation of SAFEC headquarters to larger facilities.

2013 – New website, new image, major partnership and new product.

  • Renewal of corporate image and "branding;"
  • Launch of version 3.0 of the SAFEC website;
  • Official announcement and implementation of an exclusive and major partnership with the FCCQ - Federation of Chambers of Commerce of Quebec;
  • Subscribing to a "Project Description" becomes renewable and payable on a monthly basis.
  • Launch of a new tool - The Alert Report, automatically sent by e-mail, to notify users of any change regarding programs matching their needs.

We currently offer numerous solutions whose value-added is enhanced via new technologies and innovative tools offered by our site. We are now on the path that will lead to a rapid expansion in the rest of Canada and towards international markets.
