A new era! |
Fall 2013 marks the beginning of a new era for SAFEC! As SAFEC was founded in October 2004, we will soon be celebrating our 10-year anniversary. The up-coming year will be exciting and highlighted with important events. The month of October will mark:
This exclusive agreement provides a strategic alliance between SAFEC and its new partner. This alliance shall lead to a collaborative effort to make SAFEC products and services more accessible to all businesses and entrepreneurs in Quebec. Although Canada is one of the best countries in the G20 in which to start a business, the help offered to guide and effectively support entrepreneurs to achieve their business projects is not easily accessible because it is too often disparate or often lacking efficiency. Whether referring to information on available funds or how to access support or training services, it usually takes several resources to meet these diverse needs with a minimum of tangible results ($$$). SAFEC is the only one-stop shop that offers both the most comprehensive database on business assistance programs and the support needed to learn how to use the information obtained in order to achieve tangible results in the form of funds. Through this alliance, SAFEC will be able to count on a quality partner for assistance in meeting the needs of entrepreneurs who wish to know how to obtain these funds. Reading the following news will ensure that you remain informed on important SAFEC events which may assist you in the development of your business project:

Highlight – Entrepreneurship: Canada in the G20’s first quarter |
This article caught our attention: Canada is one of the best G20 countries to start a business, according to an Ernst & Young study. Canadian entrepreneurs operate in an environment that greatly facilitates their activities. The costs of starting a business in Canada are among the lowest of the G20 countries. Entrepreneurs spend less time taking care of their taxes, benefit from affordable labour and have a better access to funding than other nations according to a study which aims to discover to what extent G20 members consisted of environments conducive to the creation of businesses based on 5 criteria: access to finance, entrepreneurial culture, taxes and regulation, education and training, and support coordination. Concern over financing While Canada ranks 4th among the G20 members, in terms of the most conducive environments to obtain funds, the concern over funding stems from a survey which found that 73% of Canadian entrepreneurs have difficulty obtaining bank financing. How to explain such a situation? We must better educate our young entrepreneurs and teach them the best source of funding based on the development stage of their business... Lack of coordination Canada, which ranks 16th, is behind in terms of coordination between various start-up participants. Canada needs more coordination between companies, governments, investors, accelerators, mentors and entrepreneurs. This is the glue that holds all the other pillars, according to Ms. McMorrow from Ernst & Young. To read the full version of this article, click here. It’s September and time for training sessions! |
After a well-deserved summer break, we resume training activities on October 31. Training session will now be conducted completely in-office starting this fall! We invite those who wish to enroll in one of our training sessions to do so as quickly as possible. For various reasons, SAFEC’s activity schedule will be full this fall and will limit the number of sessions offered during this period. As always, to ensure we provide the best possible quality for all our training sessions, we have limited the number of participants in each session. We invite you to register quickly to a session of your choice to reserve your place for one of the following training session:
